Born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 2005, Guido Sant’Anna gained international recognition in 2022 when he won first prize at the prestigious International Fritz Kreisler Violin Competition in Vienna. Since then, this young violinist has performed in major concert halls and at renowned festivals, collaborating with distinguished orchestras and conductors. This rising star made his debut with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen in 2022, when he stepped in at short notice for Christian Tetzlaff during the orchestra’s South American tour. This season, Guido Sant’Anna will make his debut with, among others, Jukka-Pekka Saraste and the Helsinki Philharmonic, Tomáš Hanus and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra in Reykjavík and with Joseph Bastian in Brahms’ Double Concerto alongside cellist Jaemin Han and the Munich Symphony Orchestra at the Isarphilharmonie in Munich. In the summer of 2026, he will make his debut at the Bregenz Festival with Eva Ollikainen and the Wiener Symphoniker.
In addition, Sant’Anna is a sought-after recitalist and chamber musician and can be seen in this role at events including the Kissinger Sommer and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. Further performances are scheduled at Wigmore Hall alongside András Schiff and at the Brucknerhaus Linz with Giorgi Gigashvili. He is also a Featured Artist in the ‘Debut im Nikolaisaal’ programme in Potsdam until 2028. In recognition of his numerous achievements, Sant’Anna has been included in Forbes Brazil’s ‘30 Under 30’ list. Guido Sant’Anna plays an 1874 Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume violin on generous loan from the violin maker Marcel Richters.
