Christian Tetzlaff has been one of the most exciting and sought-after violinists of the classical world for many years. He was Artist in Residence with the Berliner Philharmoniker and performs regularly with all the major orchestras of our time including the Wiener Philharmonie and the New York Philharmonic, the Concertgebouworkest and all the major London orchestras. He has enjoyed a close friendship with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen for many years. He is a highly decorated soloist but is also a great fan of chamber music. His own string quartet – the Tetzlaff Quartet, in which his sister Tanja also plays – is a recipient of, among other awards, the Diapason D’Or. In addition, Johann Sebastian Bach’s Partitas and Sonatas for Solo Violin have always held a special place in his heart and which he recorded for the third time in 2017.
Among the 2021/22 highlights feature concerts with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin as well as a residency at London’s Wigmore Hall. In autumn 2021 he can be found on tour with Christoph Eschenbach and the Konzerthaus Orchestra Berlin. He is also appearing as soloist with Giovanni Antonini at the Kammerorchester Basel’s Haydn2032-Projekt. In addition, he will be appearing as a duo with the pianists Lars Vogt and Leif Ove Andsnes.
