交響楽へのパッション

第2回ハンザⅡ定期公演

シベリウス、ショスタコーヴィチ、ベートーヴェンの作品

A reunion after ten years: in 2015, Anastasia Kobekina won the prestigious Tonali Competition for young artists in Hamburg and performed her prizewinner’s concert with The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. She returns as the soloist in Dmitri Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1, written for his friend Mstislav Rostropovich. His characteristic sarcastic humour contrasts with deep introspection and sparkling virtuosity, featuring famous solos for horn and timpani. While there are autobiographical references, they are not essential to understanding the piece. The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen’s Principal Guest Conductor, Tarmo Peltokoski, begins the evening with a piece of music from his homeland, Jean Sibelius’ ›Pelléas et Mélisande‹, a multi-part orchestral suite featuring excerpts from the incidental music to Maurice Maeterlinck’s symbolist drama of forbidden love. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4, composed during a particularly joyous period in his life, when he was newly in love and brimming with joie de vivre, was described by Robert Schumann as the »slender Greek maiden between two Nordic giants« (Symphonies 3 and 5).
