Aurel Dawidiuk is considered by the Hamburger Abendblatt as a »new star in the conducting firmament«. This is not least due to the rapid rise of this promising 25-year-old’s exceptional talent. Dawidiuk is also a very successful pianist and organist. In the 2025/26 season, he will begin his second season as deputy conductor of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam and will also make many debuts, including with the Bamberg Symphoniker the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and many others. In addition, this versatile musician will embark on an organ concert tour in spring 2026, with performances at venues including the Tonhalle Zurich, the Vienna Konzerthaus and Köln Philharmonie. Aurel Dawidiuk has already performed with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen on several occasions, both as a pianist and as a conductor.
Born in Hanover, Aurel Dawidiuk began his piano training at the age of six and became a junior student at Hanover College of Music, Drama and Media in 2014. He then studied conducting with Johannes Schlaefli and Christoph-Mathias Mueller at Zurich College of the Arts. Since then, Aurel Dawidiuk has attended masterclasses with Paavo Järvi, Jaap van Zweden, Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla and Joana Mallwitz, and counts Hatto Beyerle, Gabriele Leporatti and Ulrike Adler among his mentors. Aurel Dawidiuk has also won numerous awards, including the Ritter Prize 2024, the Neeme Järvi Prize at the Gstaad Menhuin Festival 2023 and first prize at the International Hans von Bülow Competition Meiningen 2023 in the category ›Conducting from the Piano‹. His current album, ›B-A-C-H; Hommage à…‹ earned him two nominations for the Opus Klassik award.
