It was a stroke of luck that this Finnish multi talent gave his German debut in June with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the orchestra’s musical quality and precision created the perfect conditions for a collaboration with this extraordinary young talent, after which followed and entire series of return appearances. In February 2022 Tarmo Peltokoski was appointed ›Principal Guest Conductor‹ of the Kammerphilharmonie – the first time that this orchestra has bestowed the title in its 42-year history. In the 2021/22 season, Peltokosky gave his Berlin debut with the Orchester der Komischen Oper, the hr-Sinfonieorchester. Further debuts are expected at the Rheingau Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, also with the Köln Philharmonie, the Sinfonieorchester Basel, the Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the Orchestre National du Caiptole de Toulouse and at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
At the age of just 14, this diverse musician began studying with the retired professor Jorma Panula. He is currently studying at the Sibelius Academy with Sakari Oramo, where he has also taken lessons with Hannu Lintu and Jukka-Pekka Saraste as well as piano lessons with Antti Hotti for, in addition to being a conductor, this 21-year-old Finn is also a celebrated pianist who has won several competitions. He has performed as soloist with all the celebrated Finnish orchestras and in 2018 was named
›Junger Musiker des Jahres‹ by the Pro Musica Foundation. Parallel to his conducting and piano studies, Tarmo Peltokoski also studied composition and arranging.
