ロンドンのバッハ
第7回プレミア定期公演
ヨハン・クリスティアン・バッハの作品
Reinhard Goebel returns. For many years, the orchestra has repeatedly collaborated with him on projects involving 18th-century music, focusing particularly on historical performance practice. Few who specialize in this period can convey their expertise as eloquently and competently as the former head of Musica Antiqua Cologne. This evening is dedicated to the work of Johann Christian, the youngest son in Johann Sebastian Bach’s large family, known as the London Bach. Trained by his brother Carl Philipp Emanuel to become an excellent pianist, his work encompasses all important genres, from sacred music to instrumental and opera. After serving several years as organist at Milan Cathedral, the English (German-born) Queen summoned him to London. There, he composed for the stage with varying degrees of success, created the first London concert series and met father and son Mozart during his travels in 1764/65 – his influence on Wolfgang Amadeus should not be underestimated! A selection of his concertos for various solo instruments is framed by excerpts from popular operas.
