ヨアナ・マルヴィッツ

Joana Mallwitz is considered one of the most versatile and promising conductors of her generation. For the 2018/19 season she is currently General Music Director at the Nuremburg State Theatre and has given guest appearances at the Frankfurt Opera, Bavarian State Opera, The Oslo Opera House, Zurich Opera and the Hamburg State Opera.

She is also in great demand on the concert podium and has conducted such renowned orchestras as the Royal Danish Orchestra, the Dresdner Philharmonie, the Göteborger Symphony Orchestra, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Southwest German Radio Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart, the Frankfurt Museums Orchestra and the Stuttgart Philharmonic. This will be Joana Mallwitz’s debut with the Deutsche Kammer­philharmonie Bremen.

Joana Mallwitz launched her career as Kapellmeister at Heidelberg Theatre. Between 2014-2018, she was General Music Director in Erfurt. Previously, she studied conducting at Hannover College of Music and Drama and in 2009 was awarded the prestigious Lower Saxony award, the ›Praetorius Musik Förderpreis‹.

Described by the New York Times as one of the »most important artists of his generation«, this Russian-born pianist regularly performs with the world’s leading orchestras. He studied the piano in Hanover and was awarded the highest score in the institute’s history. As a multiple award-winning artist, he was named ›Artist of the Year 2020‹ at the Gramophone Classical Music Awards, followed in November 2020 by a nomination for a Grammy in the category ›Best Classical Instrumental Solo‹. His first recording of all the Beethoven piano sonatas, released in 2019, instantly went to Number 1 in the official classical charts.

Igor Levit played his Beethoven piano sonata cycles at the Salzburg Festival, the Lucerne Festival, the Musikfest Berlin, in the Elbphilharmonie and in London’s Wigmore Hall, among others. Additionally, he has regularly given recitals in New York’s Carnegie Hall, in Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and also in Vienna’s Musikverein. Concerts for the coming season are planned across the world in metropolises from Tokyo to Los Angeles. In spring 2021, the Lucerne Festival announced the first of a new piano festival curated by Igor Levit, planned for May 2023.

Igor Levit is also well-known for his political commitment for which he was awarded the 5th International Beethoven Prize in 2019. This outstanding pianist has been working together with The Deutsche Kammer­philharmonie Bremen for many years.

With visionary playing and great compositional talent, this Venezuelan-born pianist has been inspiring audiences around the world. Gabriela Montero began her keyboard studies at the age of four, giving her concert debut at only eight years old. She is both a graduate and a fellow of the Royal Academy in London and has performed with many of the world’s leading orchestras including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, the NDR Symphony Orchestra as well as the New York and Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestras. She has also performed in London’s Wigmore Hall, the Vienna Concert House, the Sydney Opera House, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Hong Kong City Hall and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg.

In addition, Montero is winner of the prestigious Heidelberg Spring Music Prize 2018. In 2015 she received her first Latin Grammy for Best Classical Album. A committed human rights advocate, she gave her official debut as composer with the tone poem ›Ex Patria‹ which deals with Venezuela’s descent into lawlessness, corruption and violence. It was premiered by The Academy of St Martin in the Fields in 2011. Gabriela Montero’s first complete composition, the Piano Concerto No. 1, was performed by the MDR Symphony Orchestra in the Gewandhaus Leipzig with Kristjan Järvi, who then recorded it with the Orchestra of the Americas for the Arte television channel.
