Biel Ricart GélinasViolin
The Spanish-Canadian violinist from Barcelona began studying the violin at the age of four. He continued his education at the Institut Escola Artístic Oriol Martorell in Barcelona, graduating with honours in 2019. In the same year, he was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon (CNSMD), where he pursued his studies under the tutelage of Marianne Piketty.
In 2021, he intensified his chamber music training in string quartet performance at the Conservatoire Régional de Paris, before graduating from the CNSMD in Lyon with the highest grade and honours. That same year, Biel Ricart Gélinas joined the Accademia Stauffer in Italy as part of the ›Artist Diploma Concertmaster‹ programme. He was also admitted to the Liechtenstein Music Academy, where he continues to take part in masterclasses with Ingolf Turban. He is currently enrolled on a Master of Performance course at the Musik-Akademie Basel with Barbara Doll.
Biel Ricart Gélinas has gained orchestra experience with, amongst others, the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Ensemble Matheus, the Orchestre National d’Auvergne and the Budapest Festival Orchestra. He was a member of the Vivancos Quartet, with whom he was awarded several prizes in Spain, and he belongs to the pool of Musethica International musicians. He has also participated in the Pacific Music Festival, the National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia, the Pablo Casals Festival and the European Union Youth Orchestra and has appeared several times as a soloist with the CNSMD Orchestra.
