Truls Mørk is an internationally renowned artist, whose playing combines intensity and grace. He has performed with the most distinguished orchestras, including the Orchestre de Paris, the Berlin, Münchner und the Wiener Philharmoniker, the Concertgebouworkest, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig as well as the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Cleveland Orchestra, among many others. In doing so, he has worked with eminent conductors such as Esa-Pekka Salonen, David Zinman, Manfred Honeck, Gustavo Dudamel, Sir Simon Rattle, Kent Nagano, Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Christoph Eschenbach.

As a great advocate of contemporary music, Truls Mørk has premiered over 30 new works, including Esa-Pekka Salonen’s Cello Concerto, under whose direction it has been performed in the Royal Festival Hall, in the Lincoln Center and at the Aix en Provence Festival. Further works he has premiered include Einojuhani Rautavaaras ›Towards the Horizon‹ with John Storgårds and the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Pavel Haas’ Cello Concerto with the Wiener Philharmoniker and Krzysztof Penderecki’s Concerto for Three Cellos with the NHK Symphony Orchestra. In addition, Truls Mørk has recorded many of the great works for cello on labels such as Virgin Classics, EMI and Deutsche Grammophon, for which he has won several awards, including a Grammy and an Echo Klassik. IN the 2022-23 season and in addition to his appearances with the Deutsche Kammer­philharmonie Bremen, this cellist will also be performing with Vladimir Jurowski and the Sinfonieorchester Berlin, as well as with Vasily Petrenko and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

エストニア出身の、グラミー賞受賞者でもあるパーヴォ・ヤルヴィは、2004年以来ドイツ・カンマーフィルハーモニー管弦楽団の芸術監督を務めている。彼がドイツで率いる唯一の楽団である当カンマーフィルとのコラボレーションは、2024年には20周年を迎えた。

同コラボレーションのひとつのハイライトとなったのが、世界各地で大絶賛されたベートーヴェン・チクルス公演。ヤルヴィはこのレコーディングで、エコー・クラシックの年間最優秀指揮者賞や権威あるドイツ・レコード批評家賞など、数々の賞を受賞した。次なる共同プロジェクトとなったシューマン全交響曲への取り組みも、続いて2015年に開始したブラームスに焦点を当てたプロジェクトも大成功を収めた。ヤルヴィとカンマーフィルハーモニーは現在、ハイドンの全12曲の「ロンドン交響曲集」に精力的に取り組んでいる。

NHK交響楽団の名誉指揮者であるほか、エストニア国立交響楽団及びエストニア・パルヌ音楽祭の芸術顧問、チューリッヒ・トーンハレ管弦楽団の音楽監督も務めている。客演指揮者としても、ロイヤル・コンセルトヘボウ管弦楽団、フィルハーモニア管弦楽団、ウィーン・フィル、ベルリン・フィル、シュターツカペレ・ドレスデン、ニューヨーク・フィルハーモニック、シカゴ交響楽団、ロサンゼルス・フィルハーモニックなどと定期的に共演。2015年には、権威ある英グラモフォンと仏ディアパゾンの両誌により「アーティスト・オブ・ザ・イヤー」に選出され、2019年にはオーパス・クラシック賞の「コンダクター・オブ・ザ・イヤー」に輝いた。
