From her status among the world’s leading violinists as a soloist and chamber musician to her role as artistic director and esteemed professor – Julia Fischer embodies artistic versatility to perfection. With her extraordinary virtuosity, her passion for music and her great versatility, she has carved out a unique place for herself amongst the greats of the music world. She has been honoured with numerous prestigious awards such as the Bundesverdienstkreuz, the Deutsche Kulturpreis and the Bayerische Maximiliansorden, which recognise her role as an outstanding cultural ambassador. She is also in high demand for cross-cultural events, for example, she performed at the 2023 Nobel Prize award ceremony.

Early on in her career, Julia Fischer set a milestone by winning first prize at the International Yehudi Menuhin Competition in 1995. Since then, she has conquered the world’s stages and has appeared as a guest with the most prestigious orchestras where she collaborates with renowned conductors.

As a passionate chamber musician, Julia Fischer has forged close musical partnerships with, amongst others, Yulianna Avdeeva, Jan Lisiecki, Daniel Müller-Schott and her own quartet with Nils Mönkemeyer, Alexander Sitkovetsky and Benjamin Nyffenegger. She conducts orchestras such as the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, the Kammerakademie Potsdam and the Zurich Chamber Orchestra from the leader’s desk. Since 2024, she has also taken on the role of artistic director of the »Boswiler Sommer« festival in Switzerland.

Julia Fischer’s extraordinary talent has also been recognised in her numerous recordings. She has been honoured with major awards such as the BBC Music Magazine Award, the Gramophone Award and the German Record Critics’ Award. Since 2017, she has been presenting her masterpieces exclusively on the JF CLUB, her own platform where she showcases her latest recordings and offers members a personal insight into her work.

Julia Fischer not only performs as an acclaimed violinist but also takes her role as a mentor seriously. Through masterclasses and her founding of the Kindersinfoniker, she opens the doors to the world of classical music for the youngest musicians.

Julia Fischer began her musical training at the age of three. She first took violin lessons and, shortly afterwards, piano lessons from her mother Viera Fischer. At the age of nine, she became a junior student of the renowned violin professor Ana Chumachenco. She has since succeeded her as a professor at Munich College of Music and Performing Arts.

Omer Meir Wellber is one of the leading conductors of opera and concert repertoire. Since the 2025/26 season, he has been General Music Director of the Hamburger Staatsoper and the Hamburg Philharmonisches Staatsorchester. To mark the start of his tenure, he staged Schumann’s ›Das Paradies und die Peri‹ in collaboration with director Tobias Kratzer. The programmes with the Hamburg Philharmonisches Staatsorchester centre on the ‘»multi-faceted idea of a play«, complemented by ›Die Blaue Woche‹ festival; six chamber concerts and ten philharmonic concerts into which contemporary commissioned works are woven. Until 2024, Wellber was Music Director of the Teatro Massimo Palermo where he was awarded the Special Prize of the Italian Association of Music Critics. Prior to that, he was Music Director of the Volksoper Wien, Principal Guest Conductor of the Semperoper Dresden and Chief Conductor of the BBC Philharmonic, where he conducted at the BBC Proms, among other engagements.

In 2022, Wellber was the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival’s featured artist, appearing there both as a conductor and as a performer on the accordion, harpsichord and piano. He regularly works with renowned orchestras such as the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Wiener Symohoniker and the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich. This conductor has enjoyed a close artistic friendship with the Deutsche Kammer­philharmonie Bremen for many years, as well as an intensive collaboration on numerous joint projects. He has toured with the orchestra on several occasions, including at the Rheingau Music Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Festival Internacional Santander in Spain and various others.
