Academy graduation concert
Works by Penderecki, Krenek, Dvořák, Ligeti, Francaix and Britten
Young musicians on the cusp of entering the international music world – since 2015, The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen Academy has been guiding outstanding young talents as they prepare to embark on successful careers as professional musicians in the cultural landscape of the 21st century.
During their two years with the academy, these gifted instrumentalists are closely involved in all aspects of orchestral life, performing alongside the Kammerphilharmonie’s members on international tours, contributing to CD recordings, joining masterclasses and creating their own unique concert formats.
After four successful cohorts, the academy took another major step in 2024. Alongside the Heinz-Peter and Annelotte Koch Foundation, a key supporter since the very beginning, additional benefactors from all over Germany have been gained. This has made it possible to extend the original four academy places for strings to include positions for double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn.
For the current academy year, this concert marks the highlight and at the same time the culmination of their training with The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. The ten newly minted academy graduates will take the stage for their grand final recital against the industrial backdrop of the heating plant in Bremen’s Tabakquartier – offering a rare opportunity to see the professionals of tomorrow up close and personal today!
