Under the title ›Mozart at its finest‹, the evening at the Glocke begins with the richly contrasting overture to ›Don Giovanni‹. Due to long-term project planning changes, three-time Grammy Award winner Hilary Hahn will now perform Max Bruch’s wonderful ›Concerto No. 1in G minor for Violin and Orchestra Op. 26‹ instead of Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5. A further change concerns the line-up for the contemporary piece ›Labyrinthe du Temps‹ by Aziza Sadikova, a commissioned work by the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. As was the case at the summer festivals, the Norwegian Geir Draugsvoll will play the accordion part instead of Omer Meir Wellber who is unfortunately unable to perform due to a shoulder injury. We are delighted to have found a first-class replacement in Geir Draugsvoll who is regarded as one of the world’s leading classical accordionists. In her own words, Sadikova found inspiration in the »Baroque magic and elegance« during a stay at the Palace of Versailles. »With the same attention to detail and the same expressive fervour« as the commissioned work, according to the ›Hamburger Abendblatt‹, the orchestra and Omer Meir Wellber will then bring Schumann’s 4th Symphony »to life, making it rage, weep and rejoice«. In short: an evening in a class of its own awaits you!
