Bassoon

Pedro Silva

Born in 2001, Pedro Silva began his musical career at the age of four in the tradition-steeped wind band Banda de Música de Famalicão, before beginning his musical training on the bassoon at the Centro de Cultura Musical at the age of ten. At the age of 12, he continued to develop his musical skills at the Escola Profissional Artística do Vale do Ave, initially with his teacher Lurdes Carneiro and later with Sandra Ochoa and Hugo Mendes. He finally completed his bachelor’s degree at the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo do Porto, where he was taught by Pedro Silva, Raffaele Giannotti and Axel Benoit. Today, this young Portuguese bassoonist, who is currently completing his master’s degree with Guilhaume Santana at the Hochschule für Musik Saar, works with various orchestras and ensembles, including the Orchestre de Chambre de Luxembourg, the Staatstheater Saarbrücken, the Orquestra do Norte, the Orquestra Clássica do Centro, the Mannheim Philharmonic and others.

Pedro Silva was a member of the Jovem Orquestra Portuguesa in the 2020/21 season and has played in the Famalicão Youth Orchestra since 2019. In the 2022/23 season, he received a guest contract with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the City of Trier. He is also a passionate chamber musician and regularly collaborates on chamber music projects with various ensembles. Violin

Konstanze Glander

Born in 1989 to a musical family on the outskirts of Berlin, Konstanze Glander began learning the violin at the age of 5. As well as being very musical in her youth, dance was also a strong influence and it was for this reason that, as far as her career aspirations were concerned, she was a ›late bloomer‹. It was eventually an opera production with the National Youth Orchestra which brought about the decisive change.

Konstanze Glander studied with Professor Axel Wilczok and Stefan Hempel at Rostock College of Music and Drama. For her final performance she played Mozart’s violin concerto with the North German Philharmonic of Rostock. She was also a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and dedicated herself during her studies to the music of the tango.

As a member of various ensembles, Konstanze Glander was able to amass a wealth of artistic experience and it was as an Academy Student at the Staatskapelle Berlin and Daniel Barenboim that she gained valuable insights into the behind-the-scenes world of opera, ballet and the concert hall. During her time with the English Baroque Soloists and the Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique in London, she was able to hone her Baroque and Classical technique. The direct collaboration with John Eliot Gardiner, who led the workshops and teaching sessions, was a unique experience.

Konstanze has been a permanent member of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen since October 2018, where dance is still her greatest passion.

Double bass

Juliane Bruckmann

Juliane Bruckmann has been a member of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen since 2017. She is also a welcome guest member of orchestras such as the Estonian Festival Orchestra, the Basel Kammerorchester, the Ensemble Resonanz, Les Siècles, Boston Early Music Festival Orchestra and Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra.

This double bass player is also an active chamber musician. As a member of the Franz Ensemble, which was awarded an Opus Klassik in 2020, she has played at such renowned festivals as Musikfest Bremen, the Gezeiten Konzerte in East Friesland and the Kissinger Summer.

As a junior student, Juliane Bruckmann was taught by Gottfried Engels in Cologne and continued her studies with Bozo Paradžik in Freiburg, with Dane Roberts in Frankfurt and Joёlle Morton in Toronto. During her studies, Juliane was a scholarship holder of both the German National Academic Foundation and of Live Music Now – the organisation founded by Yehudi Menuhin. She was also a member of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and an intern with the SWR Sinfonieorchester. Particularly close to her heart is her educational work in the field of music. She is a founding member of the German educational working group PAK Deutschland e.V. and co-designer of many of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen’s collaborative projects with the Bremen Ost Comprehensive School.
