Finnish All-Rounder
Works by Wagner, Schnittke and Mozart
At just 21 years old, the young Finn Tarmo Peltokoski is already a mature artistic personality, as the members of The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie were impressed to discover during a first workshop encounter. He learned his craft with Sakari Oramo, Hannu Lintu and Jukka-Pekka Saraste, themselves graduates of Jorma Panula’s famous talent factory. He additionally trained as a multi-prize-winning concert pianist and, as if that were not enough, he also composes and improvises on a high level.
An »idyll« is the term Richard Wagner used to describe the birthday surprise for his wife Cosima after the birth of their son Siegfried: the most beautiful themes from the great opera of the same name rearranged for a chamber orchestra. Also for a chamber orchestra, Alfred Schnittke composed his 3rd Concerto Grosso in 1985, a delightful mélange of styles with elements from Bach to Berg. The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen once again lives up to its reputation as an ›orchestra of soloists‹: the two solo violinists are from its midst! Mozart‘s mature Linz Symphony was composed in an amazingly short time: only four days from commissioning to being performed in concert!
