Hanna Nebelung was given her first violin lessons by her father. She later studied as a junior student with Prof. Evelyn Distler in Hamburg and during this time was a member of the German National Youth Orchestra. She continued her studies in Berlin with Prof. Thomas Brandis, as well as with Geza Kapas and György Kurtag at the Ferenc Lizt Academy in Budapest.
During this time she played in the Young German Philharmonic and in the European Community Orchestra under Claudio Abbado. She was also a member of the string quartet of the Univeristy of the Arts Berlin. Hanna Nebelung was a founding member of The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.
