Linus Roth

Linus Roth studied with Prof. Zakhar Bron in Lübeck and with Prof. Ana Chumachenco at the Academies of Zurich and Munich. He awarded a scholarship for the duration of his studies by the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation. Since he won the Echo Klassik Award in 2006 he has made a name for himself both as one of the most interesting violinists of his generation and as a champion of forgotten works and composers.

Linus Roth has performed with the Radio Symphony Orchestra of the SWR, Berner Sinfonieorchester andthe Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and has shared the stage with the conductors Herbert Blomstedt, Andrey Boreyko, Anu Tali and Antoni Wit, among others. A passionate chamber musician, he can be heard with Nicolas Altstaedt, Kim Kashkashian, Albrecht Mayer and Nils Mönkemeyer and regularly gives recitals with the pianist José Gallardo.

Linus Roth has been awarded several prizes, including 1st prize at the ›International Novosibirsk Violin Competition‹ and the 1st prize of the German Music Competition. In 2012 he was appointed Professor for Violin at the ›Leopold-Mozart-Centre‹ of the University of Augsburg, Germany.
