Born in Osaka, Japan, Tomohiro Arita began playing the violin from an early age and first came into contact with the viola at the age of 15. He graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts, one of Japan’s most prestigious universities. He was a finalist of the ›Cecil Aronowitz International Viola Competition 2014‹ in Birmingham, and was awarded 2nd prize in the ›Salzburg Mozart International Chamber Music Competition‹ in Tokyo. Tomohiro Arita has played with the Geidai Philharmonia, the Birmingham Conservatoire String Orchestra and has performed at various music festivals, including the famous Swiss Verbier Festival in Lucerne or the Le pont Music Festival in Japan.

Violinist Konstanze Lerbs studied in Hanover and Cologne. She did post-graduate studies with Rainer Kußmaul at the University of Music in Freiburg and also studied Baroque violin in Trossingen. This was followed by numerous performances as a soloist and in chamber ensembles, before she joined The Deutsche Kammer­philharmonie Bremen in 1995.

Apart from the orchestra, she continues to pursue her interest in chamber music, in which she has a wide stylistic range and also loves making excursions into the cross-over genre.

Outside music, she dedicates her attention and her interest to her children and her home in Bremen.

Ulrike Rüben studied cello in Freiburg and Berlin. During her study days she played in the Young German Philharmonic and was a founding member of The Deutsche Kammer­philharmonie Bremen – which was initially exclusively a string ensemble known as the ›Chamber Orchestra of the Young German Philharmonic‹.

She completed her musical training with Baroque cello courses and gamba studies in Frankfurt. When not playing with the Kammer­philharmonie, Ulrike particularly enjoys performing on these two instruments together with other musicians.

Her hobby is also linked to music: she loves to dance tango, which is especially exciting when touring with The Deutsche Kammer­philharmonie Bremen – because tango starts late, long after the concerts of the Kammer­philharmonie have ended.
