born in 1973 on the island of Rügen, Devid Striesow grew up in Rostock and is today one of Germany’s most outstanding and popular actors. Whether as a lovable ›Tatort‹ detective, as a compulsively neurotic management consultant or in his frequently impersonated role as a ›Villain with Class‹, this versatile actor has appeared in numerous film and television productions. He studied at the Ernst Busch drama school in Berlin until 1999 – with Nina Hoss, Lars Eidinger, Mark Waschke and Fritzi Haberlandt as his classmates.
After completing his training, Striesow performed at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg and the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, among others, while also appearing in his first films and series. From 2005, he regularly starred alongside Hannelore Hoger in the crime series ›Bella Block‹. Today, Devid Striesow can look back on a very extensive filmography. Most recently, he starred in Joachim Meyerhoff’s autobiographical film adaptation and tragicomedy ›Wann wird es endlich wieder so, wie es nie war‹ (When Will it Once Again be Like it Never Was) in which he played Meyerhoff’s father as the director of a psychiatric clinic. In addition, this multiple award-winning actor – including the Grimme Prize, the Bavarian Television Prize and the German Film Prize – is the narrator of several audio books.
