Summer in Lesmona
¡Viva España!
›Summer in Lesmona‹ Film Night
The next ›Summer in Lesmona‹ takes the orchestra and audience to Spain. Things are going to get hot, passionate and full of temperament in Knoops Park on the river Lesum. One of the first protagonists that comes to mind in connection with the theme ›¡Viva España!‹ is, of course, Carmen. The traditional ›Opera Gala‹ on the opening night of the festival is also dedicated to the fascinating and tragic story surrounding the seductive and beautiful gypsy girl from Sevilla, for whom George Bizet created such undying melodies.
The open-air summer classic festival has been one of the highlights of Bremen’s cultural summer activities for many years. In addition to the opera gala, the programme features a cross-over concert, as well as the ›Grand Orchestra Concert‹, a blend of classic and jazz-rock-folk. Family Sunday focuses on Don Quixote, the knight of the sorrowful countenance, and his servant Sancho Panza. The traditional film night remains typically Bremen-Hanseatic with the classic ›Summer in Lesmona‹ directed by Peter Beauvais with Katja Riemann in the leading role on the big screen.
