»Attention – here comes a genius!«, wrote the French ›Diapason Magazine‹ about the amazing young conductor Tarmo Peltokoski. It was a great stroke of luck that the Finnish multi-talent gave his German debut with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen in June 2021. The unusually good collaboration with this extraordinary young talent resulted in an entire series of return appearances. In February 2022, Tarmo Peltokoski – who, alongside conducting, also studied piano, composition and arranging – was appointed the Kammerphilharmonie’s ›Principal Guest Conductor‹.
In recent seasons, Peltokoski has debuted at many major festivals including the Rheingau Music Festival and the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, as well as in the great concert halls such as Köln Philharmonie and Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie. He has also given debuts with the HR-Sinfonieorchester, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and the Rotterdam Philharmonisch Orkest. In August 2022, aged 22, Tarmo Peltokoski conducted his first complete Wagner Ring Cycle at the Eurajoki Bel Canto Festival. In the same year he was appointed Musical and Artistic Director of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, Principal Guest Conductor of Rotterdam Philharmonisch Orkest and Musical Director of the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse. This summer, this young Finn with give his debut with the LA Philharmonic with a concert in the famous Hollywood Bowl.
