Violoncello · prinicipal

A native Belgian, Marc Froncoux studied with Edmond Baert at the Brussels Conservatorium and the University of Music in Detmold with Prof. Andre Navarra. He has won prizes in numerous competitions, including the Premio Vittorio Gui international competition in Florence. Following his studies he acquired a teaching post as lecturer in the soloist class of Prof. Edmond Baert in Brussels and played as solo cellist at the opera in Lucca, Italy.

Marc Froncoux has been principal cellist with The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen since 1998. In his north German adopted home he directs the Oldenburg Chamber Orchestra and regularly holds chamber music courses for lay persons.

With The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, he makes guest appearances at the concert halls of many of the world’s major metropolises.

In his spare time, Marc Froncoux seeks to balance his professional life in nature, running regularly in training for his trekking tours in the Himalaya. Like this, he combines sport with the search for inner peace.
