»We are extremely impressed by the fact that as the orchestra continues to build its international reputation, it is also taking models of social integration and personal development for disadvantaged children and young people from Bremen out into the world.«
Prof. Dr. Heinz-Otto Peitgen, Chairman of the ›Freunde der Deutschen Kammerphilharmonie Bremen e.V.‹ (Friends of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen)
Friendship forms a connection
Friendship forms a connection – in this case to an orchestra whose music and work one admires, but also to other people who share the same passion.
Since its foundation, the non-profit association ›Friends of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen‹ has grown steadily and now has almost 1000 members. Together they enjoy unique concert experiences and memorable personal encounters with the musicians – whether it is at the annual concert performed exclusively for the Friends in Bremen, or during a get-together at one of the orchestra’s touring engagements.
With the money raised through membership fees, the ›Friends of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen‹ support the orchestra’s commitment to youth development work, provide funding for family and young people’s concerts, sponsor school workshops and a Teachers’ Academy as well as a number of projects undertaken in collaboration with the Gesamtschule Bremen-Ost.
The Friends have also funded important new acquisitions to further the orchestra’s musical development, such as the purchase of a Steinway concert grand piano.
