Theresa Pinn-Lier took up a place at The Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln aged just 14 years. After her period at The Deutsche Kammer­philharmonie Bremen Academy, she went on to take her Performance Diploma at the renowned Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington Indiana (USA) where she met the Baroque violinist Stanley Ritchie. After her return for the 2018/19 season, she became a member of the European Baroque Orchestra. She has been further inspired by the violinist Alexander Kerr, the Aspen Music Festival, the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra.

Alongside guest performances with The Deutsche Kammer­philharmonie Bremen and such well-known ensembles as the Ensemble Resonanz Hamburg and the WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln, not forgetting her solo performances, Theresa Pinn-Lier has also performed as a pianist and has been studying the piano at Music College Düsseldorf since 2020. She has also founded a quartet which devotes itself to folk songs from various different cultures. In 2018 Theresa Lier founded an annual Chamber Music Week for music enthusiasts. For her idea of connecting people of different generations through music, she was awarded the Ideas Prize by the Cusanuswerk Foundation in 2019.
