Chief Conductor Paavo Järvi immortalised in bronze
Since 14th December 2017, Chief Conductor Paavo Järvi’s hand prints have been immortalised on a bronze plaque in Bremen city centre's ›Mall of Fame‹. As the first classical musician to be immortalised, Järvi has opened a ›new category‹ in the Bremen hand print collection.
At the beginning of November, the musicians of The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen returned to Bremen after their first ever tour to China. After a magnificent opening in Macau, neighbouring Hong Kong, the orchestra performed the complete Beethoven Cycle, which was conducted by Paavo Järvi, twice in a row.

As a consolation to all those who couldn't be in Bad Kissingen live in person, BR-KLASSIK.de has now made the opening concert available online. You can listen to and watch the performances of both the Schumann (Overture, Scherzo and Finale Op.52) and the Brahms (Symphony No. 2 in D Major Op.73).

Angelika Grossmann-Kippenberg * 17. December 1955 † 19. July 2016
has passed away.
In her we have lost a cherished musician, who with her warmth and almost inexhaustible creativity was far more to us than just a colleague. She has helped to shape the destiny of The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen as a member of the orchestra since 1987. We shall miss her deeply and hold her in fond memory. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family.
