Winner of the German Founders Award (Deutscher Gründerpreis) 2008 The jury of the German Founders Award, offered by the television station ZDF, the magazine Stern, Porsche, and the Sparkasse savings bank group, has presented The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen with the German Founders Award 2008 in the category Special Award for its successful combination of entrepreneurship and culture. Managing Director Albert Schmitt accepted the prestigious award in Berlin in the presence of Federal Minister of Economics and Technology Michael Glos on Tuesday, 17 June. »We were very pleased about winning the award,« says Albert Schmitt. »It is a great honor when such a distinguished jury notices us.« Click here to read more...

New on CD The eagerly awaited next CD of the Beethoven cycle conducted by Paavo Järvi, featuring Symphonies No. 5 and 1, will be released in Europe on 29 August. Other interesting new releases by The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen include recordings with pianist Piotr Anderszewski, cellist Jens Peter Maintz, and conductor Frieder Bernius and the Kammerchor Stuttgart.
