| The first SACD of The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen's Beethoven cycle with Paavo Järvi, featuring Symphonies No. 3 and 8, has won the German Record Critics' Annual Award for 2007. This award is particularly significant because of the independence of the jury, comprised of leading German music critics, and is considered the most prestigious award for sound recordings in the German-speaking world. In its explanatory statement, the jury wrote: »This SACD production, the first of a new complete cycle, clearly stands out from the wealth of recordings of Beethoven symphonies. Under its conductor Paavo Järvi, the playing of The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen sounds both historically informed and modern - exciting, lean, full of life.
