ECHO Klassik for Paavo Järvi

Artistic Director of The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen Named ›Conductor of the Year‹ for Bremen Beethoven Interpretation

Paavo Järvi, Artistic Director of The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen since 2004, received his first ECHO Classic Award for his outstanding interpretation of Beethoven's Symphonies No. 2 and 6 with The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. He was honored by the jury in the category ›Conductor of the Year.‹ The award was presented on 17 October at the Essen Philharmonie during a major TV gala hosted by Thomas Gottschalk.

Following the sensational success of the Beethoven Project, The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen has launched a new cycle. Together with its Chief Conductor, Paavo Järvi, the Bremen musicians will present the complete symphonies of Robert Schumann this year in Canada, New York, and during a Japanese tour in November.
»It is to be expected that - as with Beethoven - new standards of interpretation will be set here as well.« (ARTE TV)
