Tour-Highlights 2007

 for further details...

The ›Around the World Tour 2007‹ is unquestionably one of the highlights of this year for The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and Paavo Järvi. The main item on the agenda was naturally the Beethoven cycle, which was described as »without any doubt whatsoever: the best Beethoven in the world« in Yokohama in 2006 (Yomiuri Newspaper). The overwhelming impression made by this cycle has now been reinforced in Canada, the US, and, once again, Japan. This time as well the performances have received enthusiastic acclaim from critics:

Yokohama, 20 July 2007
»All of the musicians savored the music with their whole bodies. In the Finale of the Seventh, I saw the way the entire ensemble virtually danced on the stage! At that moment I wished that all musicians could enjoy their own music-making as much as this orchestra does …«
Yomiuri Newspaper (31 July 2007)

Festival de Lanaudière, Montréal, 27-29 July 2007,
Beethoven cycle with all nine symphonies
»When you experience the passion and perfection with which the musicians play, you can without hesitation confer the title of ›World Champios‹ on them. I know of no other orchestra that is comparably committed and dedicated.«
»The festival audience will never forget the ovation after the Seventh.«
Le Devoir, Montréal (30 July 2007)

Ravinia Festival, Chicago, 31 July 2007
»The Ravinia audience leapt to its feet and cheered until Järvi gave an encore.«
Chicago Sun-Times (2 August 2007)

But the ›Around the World Tour 2007‹ was not over yet. In August The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen played in Arezzo, made its debut at the rebuilt Frauenkirche in Dresden, and, in conclusion, appeared at the Beethovenfest in Bonn.

August 2007
Bonn
The ›orchestra in residence‹ of the Beethovenfest Bonn presented Symphony No. 6 in F major, op. 68, ›Pastorale‹ and Beethoven's Violin Concerto, arranged for piano, with soloist Olli Mustonen in Bonn's Beethovenhalle.

›Beethon‹
The concrete sculpture by the artist Klaus Kammerich in front of the Beethovenhalle is one of the modern hallmarks of the ›Beethoven city‹ of Bonn.

August 2007
Dresden, Frauenkirche
The first concert in the rebuilt Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady) - a very special debut for the orchestra. On the program are Beethoven's Sixth Symphony and the Violin Concerto with soloist Viktoria Mullova.
