| »Until you’ve heard Martin Fröst, you really haven’t heard the clarinet.« Hilary Finch, The Times Clarinet virtuoso Martin Fröst is internationally recognised as one of the most exciting wind players of our time and is in ever-increasing demand to appear with major orchestras worldwide. Martin Fröst is the Artistic Director of the Vinterfest in Mora, Sweden, and has also recently been appointed Artistic Director of the International Chamber Music Festival in Stavanger, Norway. He records exclusively for BIS. Having just given his debut with the Wiener Symphoniker at the Bregenzer Festspiele this summer, he will return to the orchestra for concerts at the Konzerthaus Wien. Other future highlights include performances of the Mozart concerto with the Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest under the baton of Frans Brüggen, a return to the 2010 Salzburg Festival with Leif Ove Andsnes, and his debuts with the New York Philharmonic (under Alan Gilbert) and the Minnesota Orchestra (under Osmo Vänskä). Other engagements include the Radio Philharmonisch Orkest and Radio Kamer Filharmonie (at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw) in the Netherlands, the NHK Symphony Orchestra, the Tonkünstler Orchester, recordings and concerts with the Orquestra Sinfonica do Estado de Sao Paulo and a tour with the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and Andrey Boreyko.
