Information on the Friends

The Friends support important orchestra projects and enjoy personal contact with the musicians. »When we founded the Society of Friends of The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen in June 1998, we wanted to become a community that not only demonstrates its love for the orchestra but also cultivates friendships among the members. Even with almost 800 members, the Society’s spirit has not changed to this day. I believe the reason is that, because of our memorable contacts with the musicians, we are continually inspired by their spirit.« Prof. Dr. Heinz-Otto Peitgen, President of the Society of Friends Support for Work with Young People With their dues, the members primarily support the orchestra’s work with young people, including children’s, young people’s, and family concerts, school workshops, the Teachers’ Academy, and, recently, the Kammerphilharmonie’s joint projects with the pupils of the Bremen East Comprehensive School in Osterholz-Tenever. Thank You from the Musicians The musicians of The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen would like to express their sincere thanks to all the members of the Society of Friends for their support. The musicians look forward to their meetings and the opportunity to communicate with the Friends – whether at the annual private concert in Bremen or the get-togethers during tours, such as recently in Bonn, Paris, and Salzburg.

Members’ Benefits A range of exclusive benefits are available for members of the Society of Friends: invitations to selected orchestra rehearsals champagne, juice, and social contacts at the Friends Stand in the Glocke at all subscription concerts opportunities to travel to selected concert events outside Bremen annual general meeting with exclusive private concert and get-together with the orchestra members.
