|The second ›Principal Guest Conductor‹|
Playing the cello and conducting occupy equal positions in Heinrich Schiff's concert activity. The music director of the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra and the Musikkollegium Winterthur began his artistic career as a cellist. Since 1986 he has been an internationally sought-after guest conductor and artistic director of numerous orchestras.
Heinrich Schiff combines many facets within his artistic personality. He gave the artistic development of the orchestra a clear orientation and served as a ›melting point‹: he consolidated the previous experience of the orchestra.
He was principal guest conductor of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie from 1990 to 1992. A close attachment has resulted from this very successful collaboration which is documented on several CDs.
