| ›SpielArt‹ (Variety) The foundation for great triumphs on stages throughout the world is laid behind closed doors. The intimacy and intensity of ensemble playing are continuously renewed from the roots of chamber music, reinforcing the special qualities that go to make up The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. The chamber music programs that the musicians have drawn up for 2008 are varied and interesting, as usual. Rarely heard compositions for flute, violin, and viola and the juxtaposition of Johannes Brahms's two string quintets are programmed alongside arrangements for diverse ensembles. The wind soloists play Mozart arias and Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite. Oboist Ulrich König follows his adaptations of Abba and the Beatles with an arrangement of Mozart's Oboe Concerto for chamber ensemble. The Ensemble Lesmona will perform a symphony by Joseph Haydn and other works with only seven musicians. A program featuring the internationally renowned soprano Julie Kaufmann as soloist will undoubtedly be a very special concert. Solo clarinetist Kilian Herold and solo hornist Elke Schulze Höckelmann have integrated an extraordinary lieder recital by the soprano into the chamber music series, the highlight of which will be Franz Schubert's delightful ›Shepherd on the Rock‹. Until a final decision is made on the operation of the Radio Bremen studio, which is definitely worth preserving, you will be able to enjoy the chamber music series in our marvelous new concert hall in the Gesamtschule Bremen-Ost, whose acoustics have been highly praised by experts and audiences alike. | (Photo: Julia Baier) All concerts at a glance Tickets and Subscriptions The Chamber Music Series is presented together with RADIO BREMEN and KITO.
