›Nordic Nights‹
When picnic baskets are packed with loving care and throngs of music lovers prepared for all weather contingencies make their way towards Knoops Park, it is time for Summer in Lesmona again. Since 1995, the classical open-air entertainment event of the summer has become a cult experience that is marked in red on many calendars weeks in advance. The theme of Summer in Lesmona 2008 is ›Nordic Nights‹. Among other happenings, Grieg's ne'er-do-well Peer Gynt will flit about under the plane trees high above the Lesum. We can only hope that, with the blessing of the weather god, concertgoers can conjure up a hearty Scandinavian smorgasbord buffet on their imaginatively spread picnic tables under the starry sky of a Nordic midsummer night.
