Daniel Harding

Conductor

His sensational career began as assistant to Sir Simon Rattle and Claudio Abbado. From 1999 to 2003 he was music director of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, with whom he won acclaim in New York, London, Salzburg and other musical capitals. Daniel Harding appears as a guest conductor with leading orchestras throughout the world and is currently music director of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. His remarkable opera productions in Aix-en-Provence have also aroused considerable attention. His interpretations are immediately accessible, not least through his strong physical presence at the conductor's podium. He enjoyed great success with the London Symphony Orchestra on a tour of the Far East in 2004. Shortly afterwards he was appointed principle guest conductor of this ensemble beginning with the 2006/07 season.
